Ok here is our problem. We bought a modular home on a piece of property.
The modular is now 6 years old. The home is set on a foundation of block. Our problem is that the home seems to be pulling apart. There is a spot that runs across the entire livingroom/greatroom where the two parts meet that has now developed a bump. You can step on it and feel and as well as just look across the floor and see it.
I have called a home set up company to come out and look at it to tell me if there is anyway that it can be fixed that will not cost us an arm and leg. He is telling me that it will be under $1000.00 but why did it become unlevel in the first place?
Was it not set right? Or not connected (both parts) right? Help we , we are trying to sell out and move to Arizona but everytime someone looks at the house they do not make an offer. Even thought the house is in a great neighthood and is below the going price for around this area.
Can I hold anyone responsible for the way it is now? How do I go about fixing it?

Re: unlevel modular home
Dear Kay,
You are right, the problem does occur with the set-up, however your problem is not unique and it is not the fault of anyone. The fact is that until now there has never been a requirement that your home be placed on a foundation engineered to meet the soil and condition of the area. In other words, your home has settled and your marriage line where the homes are joined have dropped or separated.
My suggestion is that you visit www.suresafe.com. This will give you an idea of the type of foundation that will solve your problem. Additionally, once you have made this upgrade, you can fix your marriage line at that time.
Most likely, we will not have a contractor in your area at this time. That may present a great opportunity for you to buy factory direct from us and at the same time receive a $500.00 rebate for helping us find a reliable contractor in your area that can be certified in this new advanced foundation technology. Oh, and one more thing; our foundation is fully HUD compliant which means you will not only increase the value of your home, but it will become more marketable as well.
