Leaking Vent
Leaking Vent
The exhaust vent in my kitchen ceiling leaks. The manufacturer has made four trips to fix it and it still leaks. This has been going on for seven months. What can I do about this? Should I be concerned about roof damage yet?
Re: Leaking Vent
Sounds like you need to call the service manager about this...There is no reason 4 trips are necessary...If the water is falling down on the stove..It is unlikely to be hurting your roof...If you see stains on the cieling...it could be hurting you ceiling and insulation above the cieling..maybe the roof as well...
The manufacturer needs another service rep...Ask the service manager if he would authorize a payment to a local service man to repair or replace...seems like they do not know how...This is not a hard problem to fix...If the water is coming down on the stove..sounds like the roof vent is defective...
Try the factory 1 more time..Good Luck

Re: Leaking Vent
Thank you Mr. Murray for your reply. I will be contacting the manufacturer again. The vent is in the ceilng of the Kitchen, not over the stove, the water runs from the vent to the wall. Not only has the vent been repaired four times it has been done by four different factory service men.
