Attached garages vs. Detached

Is it true that an "attached" garage will boost your insurance premiums? Which one is really more cost prohibitive? We're in the process of deciding which one would better work for us. I like the designs of the detached garages with a breezeway in between. How much does it cost to have a 24x24 garage built?
