My husband and I are looking to buy a MH in the next 2 months. We have looked at everything from fuqua, fleetwood,ph,marlette, oakwood, champion, karsten etc.
We think we have finally decided on a marlette desert manor triple wide. Does anyone have any comments good or bad on marlette.
thanks

Re: new home
The only thing to remember is that Marlette is part of the Schult Line of homes owned by Oakwood..who is currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy...The long term survival of the company will be probably determined by the time you are ready to buy...
Even if Oakwood does not make it the Schult and Marlette brands are likely to be sold off...They are about the only part of Oakwood with any real value...
Unfortunately...Oakwood has started to use the Marlette nama on product from all over the US...The original Marlettes were all on the Midwest and Northeast...If you are in one of these areas..the homes are probably still built with quality features...Good Luck

Sheryl,
After much searching, I decided on a PH 76H2 model, it had all of the construction features I was looking for. Many of the homes I looked at were beutiful, but I was interested in what lie beneath. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Murry has a valid point if you are in the northwest it makes a big difference in quality as far as a couple of those buiders are concerned. The northwest is building some of the nicest homes in the country.
