We just purchased a triple wide and have heard we should not attach a porch or deck directly to the home as per ledger board is there a site that would give us info on this.Does it have something to do with settling of the home? Thanks

I am not a big believer in dirctly attaching the porch directly to the home...Often the code calls for permanently attached steps and decks...but not necessarily to the home...permanently attached to the ground is usually ok..
There is a good web site with a forum about manufactured home repairs and improvements run by service techs..Maybe you can get good ideas there..

Congradulations on your new purchase..

Isn't it considered a part of the home if it is attached to the home and taxed accordingly? I thought if you have it free standing it is not appraised as part of the home.

Good point...Tax appraisals are different in every local area...Might be wise to talk to your own tax assessor and find out if it makes a difference..
