gas logs in mh

Wanting to put gas logs in fireplace of our double wide but when reading some information in our manual it says all gas appliances to be vented outside and avoid use of kerosene heaters. All of this due to moisture concerns. So should we use vented or vent-free logs? Want to for supplemental and backup heat but do not want to create a moisture problem. What do others use? Thanks.
