We have decided on a dealer that has been in our area for 30 plus years and they carry the Redman -new moon series- and Fleetwood.

Any information on the quality of these or the differences in these. It seems that Redmond comes standard with a few things that are an option with Fleetwood such as the 6 panel doors for example.

I like the way you have appraoched making your decision....Investigagted dealers and chose one....Now consider the home...

You are wise to pick a long time local dealer...They have more than stockholder to please...Most often the dealership is there life and they take pride in happy customers..

Since Fleetwood makes sooooooo many different models..it is very hard to directly comment on the difference..Sounds like the dealer keeps Fleetwood for his lower line and New Moon as a middle line...

Since you trust him...take some time and let them tell you about the homes and why one is more than another...

I've seen a lot of negative comments about Fleetwood on this forum, but as you just said, Fleetwood has lots of floorplans (over 300, I think) - and whether dealers like it or not, it's mostly women who pick out houses and we women are sold on floorplans. Yes, we want quality construction and all that, but if the floorplan is lousy, we don't care if the house has 2 x 6's in the walls and solid oak cabinets. I've seen some beautiful Fleetwoods - i.e., lots of windows (a must!), bigger second and third bedrooms, coat closets (!), and master bedroom retreats. All of this is very seductive and puts the quality of construction as a secondary consideration (okay, I'll speak only for myself here). Also, the fact that these houses are frequently decorated in a very tasteful manner makes the first impression very favorable. On the other hand, I think it might be better to show the houses empty - it makes them seem more spacious and you can more easily imagine your own furniture in there.
