I am thinking of buying a "homes of legend" home by champion. Need some input. I have looked to find out which of the champion made homes are better than others, but I have had no luck. I know that they make several different series(homes of legend, redman, etc.) but I can't find out if there are any quality differences between them. I am looking at a "homes of legend" five star model.
I would appreciate any comments. This is a big step for me.

Re: homes of legend
Champion has many factories...Each brand is stand alone and completely different...Specs, features, warranties and floor palns are all different and have nothing to do with each other..
Becareful not to confuse this home with Homes of Merit..They are not the same home...Homes of Legend is built in Northern Ala......
They do not seem to have a separate web site with specific spec..I found the floor plan and it looks good..
You are going to carefully compare the specs with those of other homes in your area...

Re: homes of legend
Well, I don't know much about the Champion homes, but I will tell you something about the company.
I live in the Knoxville, TN area - in fact, I live 20 minutes from Champion's worldwide HQ in Maryville, TN. I have been a business-to-business sales person for various companies (Xerox, Kinko's, Comp USA) for years in this area and have dealt with the corporate people from Champion. My father also interviewed to be Jim Clayton's personal corporate pilot.
These people are VERY VERY cheap when it comes to doing business with other companies. They are major penny-pinchers. I hope this doesn't translate into how they build their homes, or indicate that they cut corners when it comes to building. But I just thought you might want to know a little something about them as a company.

DOH! Whoops, I didn't mean Champion - I meant Clayton - sorry for the confusion.
