Oakwood Homes
Oakwood Homes
I am currently looking to buy an oakwood home. How is Oakwood as a company to deal with, and how is the quality of the oakwood home.
Re: Oakwood Homes
Ted
I am a contractor that has a company that works for a lot of manufacturers. Oakwood here is often refered to as Jokewood. They have a department called "PHS" Prefered Housing Service that is to take care of warranty items on new homes right away. If right away is within 1 year from purchase to get someone to attempt to fix your home, then your in good hands. Ask the sales center to let you talk to the last 5 homeowners that have purchased and see what happens.

Re: Oakwood Homes
Oakwood is a large manufacturer that builds all different sorts of products...Like others in the business some are good and some are not...
Oakwood owns Marlette, Schult, Golden West and House Smart Homes...
The Oakwood lable is almost always found on Oakwood owned sales locations...In the last few years Oakwood has had very tough times financially and has closed over 100 locations..They have had a problem with keeping good personel on their stores as well..
I recommend that consumers deal with locally owned independents..Especially those that have been in business for many years...In keeping with this statement..I would suggest you shop around...
By the way...try an inbternet search on Oakwood and see what pops up..

Re: Oakwood Homes
STAY AWAY FROM FLEETWOOD HOMES TOO!!
It took 7 months for them to complete my problems that were noted on my punch sheet. They only reason I got anyything accomplished is that I called the PResident of the company EVERYDAY and built a website.
