I just had my new doublewide (28'x84') setup last week. I noticed the setup crew left a lot of blocks slightly loose and when I asked about it they stated the blocks were level and the home will settle down to the blocks, which makes perfect sense to me. I'm sitting on a level full slab 6" thick with a 12x18" perimeter beam and also a 12"x18" beam down the center. I went to install skirting and I noticed the skirting is 1-1/2" longer in the center of the home than on the ends.

I took my spirit level (water level) and started checking. The home is as much as 1-1/2" off from corner to corner and is arched by being lower on the ends of the home than the center. This is checking it on the bottom flange of the I beam.

My question finally, what is considered acceptable on a 84' long home end to end and from side to side, as far as being level?

I am no mechanic...I have been in sales and management for many years though...

It seems close....But I have never heard of leaving blocks loose...Where I am at..this would not pass local inspection...

Homes are built with cambor (a bend in the frame)...Sometimes there is a little too much...or not enough cambor...This can be fixed by heating the frame and allowing it to move down to the blocks...

It seems that the loose blocks would cause some softness in the floor..

There should be no loose blocks. Moreover, if the home is expected to "settle-down" to the blocks, how will the anchors lines remain taut? Which raises another question: Your home is properly anchored, isn't it?
