Motorcycles

Maybe someone has had an expierence like this....

Our park manager told us that and about 5 other people that even though on the rules it states no motorcycles, she would let people have them. So there are about 5 people with motorcycles. This year she says that everyone has to keep them in thier shed. She lumps the bikes in with recreational vehicles, when a bike is transportation. She has also stated that if her rule is not complied with they can take our site away from us.

Can you please tell me if there is any law that would keep bikes out of parks legally or make you keep them in the shed (granted it is ok to have one and ride it in and out the park). We live in Michigan if this helps any.

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

I'm certainly no legal eagle, but I would think if the "rules states no motorcycles" that that would be all you would need to keep them out. It's like telling a child, as they throw a tantrum, that they can NOT have the candy, then telling them they can. If the rules state in writing that no motorcycles are allowed then surely all concerned can meet with the manager and bring this up. If she were to try to throw you out then perhaps mentioning the fact that you would see her in court might help change her mind. How can she throw you out if she is the one making exceptions? Perhaps one way to test this is to find something else in the rules and to the opposite (something minor). If she doesn't allow it then surely she's playing favoritism. Having said all that, again, I am no lawyer but I've always been taught that if the rules say you cannot do something then you either have to follow the rules and try to change them. I find this interesting and will be interested in learning what happens. L Jane
