The serial number for your 1996 Fairmont manufactured home is likely encoded in the number you provided. However, without the exact number, you can refer some general guidelines that might help you decipher the serial number:

Look for a specific format. The format can vary depending on the manufacturer, but it often includes a combination of letters and numbers.
If you're still having trouble, contact the Fairmont manufactured home manufacturer directly. They should be able to provide guidance on how to decipher the serial number.
Once you've successfully deciphered the serial number, you can use it to obtain a duplicate title from the Michigan Secretary of State.

I recommend contacting the Michigan Secretary of State directly or reaching out to Fairmont Homes customer support, as they should be able to help you decode the serial number.

I empathize with your struggle! Deciphering serial numbers can be a real headache, especially with older manufactured homes. I found that reaching out directly to the manufacturer often yields the best results. They usually have resources or people who can help clarify the number format.

There’s been so much advice already, but I wonder if the issue has been resolved. It seems quite complicated to me.
