Don't move your house without reading this!

If you ever consider moving your manufactured home from a park to a piece of property and then getting a mortgage - DON"T!

HUD has a regulation all FHA lenders follow that says that a house moved from its first siting disqualifies the land and the lender is prohibited from writing a mortgage.

HUD doesn't have the legal right to do this - look at 12 USC 1703 - but they will not grant any exceptions.

If you moved your house to your land and then later decide to sell, no FHA lender will write a mortgage on it.

It's important to be aware of the HUD regulation that disqualifies a manufactured home from FHA mortgage eligibility if it's moved from its original location. This could significantly affect your ability to finance and sell the property later. Always consider this crucial factor when planning to relocate a manufactured home to your own land.
