Eric:
We also have a Coleman fireplace in our 2001 Skyline with the type of fan you describe and it works great. This may sound stupid, but do you have a wall switch that controls the power to the blower switch?

I am wanting to use my fireplace to warm a bit more than it is doing. Our heat bills are outragous.
Is there any way you could install a blower in the top of the fireplace such as where the warm air comes back out?
Is there any way you can make better use of this fireplace.?
I do sit a box fan in front of it and it blows warm air and takes the chill out of the house but also sometimes it will blow smoke too........ patty

Dianne has it right about coleman fire place for sure. Warm is suppose to come out top of fireplace but the way it is set up will never happen.I'm a techinical person for forty years and have look at how fan and fireplace is set up. I recommend you go to office machine dealer and buy used exhaust blow fan off copy machine and cut out the lovured slot (2) and mount fan over louvered area and turn on used fan and warm air comes out. Simple and cheap to do. It works well also.

You did not here this from me but works very well.

I have the same Coleman Fireplace in my doublewide in VT by Skyline.
I have the blower and the second rod hanging down that I don't know what it does.
I also have a round duct below the fireplace, I can't figure out it does.
Does anyone have a manual?

I am not sure about the lever. There is some discussion about them in the posts above but the duct below the fireplace is the fresh air intake to supply fresh air to the firebox and allow the fire to burn at all. The manual would have been supplied to the original owner by the selling dealer.

We recently purchased a manufactured home, and have a Coleman Fireplace. What we don't have is an owner's manual. Can anyone tell me how or where to get one. We, too, are having problems with the fan. Love the beer fix! Judi; Oregon
