I am hoping someone has some good advice!!! We bought a new home 2 yrs ago and moved into a brand new sub division. The manufactored home industry in Oregon has steadily declined. As a result this 32 lot division has only 9 occupied homes in it and 3 of those are for sale. The owner is submitting to the county a request to expand to 39 lots. When asked what he intentions are w/ the land his answer was "I can't answer that right now". My concerns and questions are as follows. We owe more than this house is worth since we are still absorbing the set-up costs. Should we purchase land and move the home--or try to sell it for what we can and assume the balance--or wait and see the outcome of the owners decision. My issue with the latter is that we may not have sufficent notice to pursue any other options-our rental aggreement states he only has to supply us with 180day notice. We where also thinking about putting this house on to a vacation property and then purchasing a stick built home. Any reasons not to look into that option?
thank you in advance for any info.

Not sure what to do
Re: Not sure what to do
You mentioned that you are in a subdivision...but rent the lot..
The best solution would be to buy the lot you are currently on...Then sell the package..The developer obviously has plans to do something..selling the lots is probably it..It might take a while to sell the home...but you will not be at the whim of a 180 day notice...
Good Luck
