My husband and I are looking to purchase a home very soon (I want to be moved before the new school year). We have looked at Solitaire - really like the construction and Palm Harbor - hated the pushy sales person and after being in a Solitaire the construction seemed sub-par. The hang up right now is that the three floor plans we like no one near us has right now. One of them - DW-486SC will be here in about week and a half, but one of the other ones will take another couple of months to get here. We like the 486SC, DW-485, and DW-PRT4. They don't have any interior pictures to show us and I REALLY don't want to buy a home with out walking through it. Has anyone seen these elusive homes in person??
PS...we are located in Fort Worth, TX and will be putting the home in Tolar, TX.

Solitaire Homes is a regional brand sold mostly in Oklahoma and Texas. I dont know much about them other than what folks have posted in our forums. You can read past postings about them here
While the local retail outlets mey not have the plan you are looking for in stock there is no reason that you can not get one built in a reasonably short time. You may find some resistance to this from your local retailer, as he is paying interest on the homes he stocks and is most concerned with moving the payment on one of those homes off his back and onto yours.
Don't settle. A home is a huge investment, monetary and emotionally. You should be getting exactly what you want
The Solitaire factory is located at 7605 Nickles Road in Duncan, OK you can phone them at (580) 252-6060. Call and ask where the nearest dealer is that has your model number in stock. Also ask about the process of ordering a home specifically as you want it.... colors, options, etc. Moist builders are happy to get custom orders.
There is no doubt that they will have to work with you through a licensed dealer. Once you let them know what you are looking for I believe they will bend over backwards to place you with a retail outlet that will sell and deliver exactly what you want.
If you want to be assured that you get their attention and you need a loan to purchase the home be sure that you get pre-qualified for the mortgage you need prior to shopping. Do you know exactly how much mortgage money can you qualify for? This will let you know exactly how much can you spend when you go shopping. It will alert whom ever you buy from that you are a rare feature in todays housing market. A real live and enabled buyer.
Lenders will be happy to give you a pre-qualification letter letting you know how much you will need for a down payment and monthly payments and closing costs.
You can quotes from multiple lenders to be assured your getting the best deal. Comparison shop for manufactured housing loans in your state or across the country. Find the lender program that works best for you and you can lock in today's low rates HERE.
