Bad mobile home community site/forum?

Post by ICM » Thu Mar 05, 2009 7:33 am

Due to a resent electrical fire believed to steam from the mh community I 'lived' in failure to inspect/repair/replace the faulty 'fuse' box under the electric meter, along with a host of other issues the 'professional, well governing management/community refused to deal with or correct; I am looking for a MH Community warning/complaint forum to inform others of this TRAILER Park. (Yes I said it, Trailer Park, which they are totally offended by, qoute the now district manager, formerly the park manager, "we are a mobile HOME Community, not a Trailer Park)
Also of the communities parent corporation, that would not and will not hear of any quote, 'non-sense' of failing/failed management.
Any information would be great!!!!
Thanks,
ICM

I dont know of any forum that exists just for the purpose you seek. You are welcome to state your case here. Community managers and owners, like all sub-sets in our society come in shades that range from the good, the band, and the ugly. I'm sorry to hear that you landed with the ugly.

Most park owners are wise enough to understand that it is to their advantage to maintain their property for safety and health issues. If you own a machine that makes you money you are foolish not to keep it in top operating condition. Prevention is a lot less expensive than correction and repair. When I owned a park I learned very quickly that if I took care of it it took care of me... if I did not take care of it, it not only did not take care of me, but punished me by making me put out more in the end then if I had fixed things right the first time I knew about them

If those type of clear and present dangers persist after notice to management residents would be wise to take management to task, protect themselves and call in the local building officials for a code violation inspection.

David, you hit the nail on the head and drove it home. I posted the 'situation' yesterday, but it did not post~~~maybe the moderator(s) didn't approve it or something happened in cyberspace. Maybe this is the wrong forum to post the skimming of the 8 to 9 year ordeal of neglect, mismanagement, favoritism, and in fighting between the 'promoted' alcoholic district manager and his now ex-wife manager, who knows.

Maybe later when life returns to some sort of normal, what ever that is, I will search more and/or create a forum for the purpose of all of us to post the good, bad, and ugly of the park communities.

I know my family is safe, alive, and bewildered in our new community and the warm reception we have received. It's a totally new world and strange to say the least. People here are all smiles, wave and are not afraid to speak. The management, maintenance, and owner, well WOW!!! Can you believe they turned on the electric and gas here and insisted we stay in the mobile we had picked out before any money or papers where signed, then added even if you decide not to purchase it at least you have a warm place until you find what your looking for. Boy can the manager's wife cook a meal and offer a 'mothering' concern about you living off of fast food!!!!! We are enjoying our new mobile and it's starting to feel a bit like home! Our dog even seems to enjoy it here better, running around our mobile at least 3 times every time he is taken out and seems more playful. I think my son said it best last night, maybe this was a blessing in disguise. It's kinda weird when a total stranger knocks on your door with a plate of cookies and a hand cleaning the salvaged clothes and what not.

Congratulations on your new situation. I think you will discover that most parks are friendly places... it is in the best interest ALWAYS for the folks who own homes there and management to keep it that way.
