I need an installation manual for a 1989 Paramount Wild wood III

Post by Rick » Wed Nov 29, 2006 12:49 pm

I have to have an installation manual for my 1989 Paramount Wildwood III mobil home, according to San Bernardino Ca. Building & safety in order to get a permit.
I will also need a setdown plan or tiedown specifications, chassis pier locations, marriage line pier locations and any other special piers required. (I think that info. would be included in the manual.)They also require a scale floor plan. The mobile is a 27 x 66 3bd. 2 bth. double wide.
I have been trying for several monthes to find this info.but no luck so far. I understand that the manufacture went out of business in about 1991 and I do not know where or how to obtain this required info.!

You are right...the manual would have had all of this stuff...But there is no where to get it....Your state as every have a generic set up code to be used when the manual is not available....You will have to use a licensed set crew and they should be fully aware of the alternate generic set up rules in CA...Or you might have to have a structural engineer to design one for you....Your local building official should be aware of the alternate set up code required in CA...You might have to get some graph paper and measure tape to draw a scale drawing of the floor plan...Good Luck..

Thanks rmurray .I find it hard to believe that nobody out there has this info.,but if you say so,it must be true.
Now,with that in mind, how do I go about finding a licensed set up crew that knows how to accomplish this? I have tried the local HIGH DESERT phone book, but the only one I found, was to busy or not interested. Maby you know of someone that serves the Victorville / Barstow area ?

I am not closely familier with your part of the country.....If I was looking for a good set and moving crew..I would ask the local dealers for referals...

By the way CA has lots of manufactured home info on the net...You might try this office to help you with info about the generic set up code the county should be enforcing...

http://www.hcd.ca.gov/codes/ol/ombpg-menu.html

Try calling them or The CA Manufactured home institute might be able to give you lots of info....Check out the membership roles for members in your area..They should be fully aware of the county code requirements as well....

Good Luck...
