cook stoves

Can you use a cook stove in a manufactured home? I would love to have one of those new (old fashioned looking) wood cook stoves in my kitchen. Someone told me I can't do it but they didn't know why.
Thanx!

Any fuel burning appliance in a MH must be listed for use in a MH. So your cook stove is not listed for such use.
That is the short answer, there are many other things to consider, like a source for combustion air, fire protection for adjacent surfaces, the weight of the thing, as well that make this a no win proposition!

Those stoves can also be purchased as electric or gas. They have the same "workings" of a regular range, it's just in an antique looking package!
