Aspenite

I am looking at a brand new Redman Home in Pennsylvania. The home's outside sheathing is 7/16 Aspenite. Is this the same as OSB?

Does anyone know what Redman puts on the flooring, OSB or Novadeck? How does Aspenite hold up for a flooring surface?

Thanks for all your help.

Asenite seems to be a brand name for an OSB product...I found this price list on a web site..

Sheathing Home Depot
OSB 5/8 T&G 4x8 19.97

Spruce 3/8" 4x8

Spruce 1/2"/5/8/3/4- 4x8 17.47/22.47/25.97

Aspenite OSB 7/16" 4x8 13.97

Aspenite OSB T &G 5/8/3/4" 4x8 19.97/23.97

Spruce 5/8" 4x8 T&G 22.47

1 inch Code Board (pink)4x8

It must be the beginning grade of sheating board...It is the lowest price....

What do ZZI know...here it refers to thisa product as particleboard...

http://www.lynden.com/aml/web-tariff/ta ... %20viz.htm

Here it refers to it as OSB also...Shows it in a floor assembly....

http://www.materiauxspecl.com/en/pdf/sonopan.pdf

Maybe more than you want to know here...Makes it clear this IS NOT OSB,,,

http://www.foardpanel.com/index_files/osb%20vs.pdf

Here is the industry definition of the word...aspenite..

http://www.osbguide.com/pdfs/OSBglossary.pdf

Check the spec sheet about the flooring materials...many Champion owned plant now use pressboard floors...
