How does stucco compare in cost to cedar siding for a new home?

If by stucco you mean Hardy Siding ( a concrete composite board) which looks like stucco...This option will be a little less expensive than true cedar siding...A few manufacturers offer a siding that looks like cedar but is actually pine boards stained cedar color...this type of siding is less expensive...but far more troublesome...

There maybe some true stucco...but I am not aware of any that is offered on the whole home..

Cedar and Hardy siding are not offered by all companies..Hardy Siding is warranted for 50 years...will not burn..seldom needs paint..can be painted when ever you like to change the look of your home...is bug proof..

Cedar will change to a gray weathered look..unless you seal the siding regularly every couple of years..the warranty is only that of the home manufacturer..usually 1 year...it is bug proof...some cedar has knot holes that can be troublesome in the future...

The choice is all personal...
