where to buy, which dealership?

Post by Charlotte Maness » Wed Dec 18, 2002 10:02 pm

I am in the process of researching for a MH,my big question is where to buy, close to home (where the MH will be set) or a dealership further from "HOme" but one you feel confident and comfortable with? I kind of don't trust the dealerships where my MH will be set, I don't think they know what the *&%$ they are doing etc.

I have been chatting with another dealiership that is a good five hour drive from home but who has been open and very informative with me and willingly answered any and all quesitons etc.

I would be interested in any and all opinions.

If you don't think that the one retailer does not know what they are doing, does it make sence to make a substantial purchase with them?

The second retailer sounds like your best choice but the distance is a question. Many retailers would not sell a home over that distance, you should check and see.
Failing that, if you deal with the folks at the sales center that your more "iffy" about. Tell them upfront you have reservations about dealing with them and why. See what they say. Get EVERYTHING clearly in writing, leave noting to chance.

Good luck, if you don't feel right don't buy.

The Palm Harbor dealership gained my trust after two visits...we are buying the home from them..this after MUCH research and talking to dealers, and since PH has their own install/set-up, we feel confident in dealing with them.

And we lucked out....cause our PH dealership is a 30 minute drive.
