In eastern Kentucky a mobile home sits on many places where the land is only flat in a space for a mobile home to sit. In a lot od cases you wonder how the home got there. My point is, many, many manufactured homes were purchased in this area of the country.
6 1/2 years ago, my wife and I purchased a Norris home from a dealer in Hazard, KY. This was not a stock home. We looked at a number of homes and did not find what we were looking for so we combined several floorplans and modifications to get what we wanted, We paid over $40,000 for a 16' x 80' single wide. The home was delivered about 3 weeks after we ordered it.
We have problems with the roof, floor covering, doors, leaking around windows, ceilings and wall sheeting. A number of these problems are covered up by vinyl siding aand did not show up immediately. I contacted the manufacturer and a sales rep did take a look but they accept no responsibility as the home is over a year old and out of warranty. I'm not at all happy annd would like anyone who intends to purchase a new Norris of Clayton home to contact me. I wonder what the life expectancy of a home like this is. I'd be happy to discuss shoddy workmanship and what aappears to be "planned obsolecence" on the part of the manufacturer. You can visit and take photos if you wish. E-mail me for more information
