multi-moves for a DW

Post by wendy jones » Thu Aug 08, 2002 10:33 am

I own a 2000 DW on rented property in Tx. I have gotten another job, located about 100 miles away. My new employer is going to pay to move the home for me, he has offered to put it on a piece of his property, a nice location and close to my job an local school. My problem is I am unsure about having to move it again when I find some property to buy. I want to put on decks, landscape and put down roots so to speak. I have been unable to find any communities around the Athens Texas area with lots for sale. I am to start work a.s.a.p., any suggestion, or comments.

I assume Athens is where you are headed...Have you asked your new employer if he knows anyone that might sell you a piece of land..Remember you could refinance your home, prep, improvements and the land into 1 loan and lower you current rate by many percentage points....Then next move you would sell the whole thing and take advantage of any local appreciation..

The move will not hurt your home, if done by a quality crew...Expect to have to buy some new trim and the skirting might not go back and may need to be replaced,,...A move of this sort should cost about $4500 to $5000....
