Solitaire homes offers metal roofs on their homes, for an additional charge of course. What do you think? I know they are better when it comes to stick homes, but I've never heard of this on a MF home. I would appreciate your input.
Thanks
Metal roofs on MF homes
Re: Metal roofs on MF homes
I have only sold a few...All I know is they are moisier...of course this is the attraction for some...
Those that we sold had only 1 year warranty...way less than shingles...Some customers somehow thought they had a much longer warranty...maybe some of the stuff used in stick homes has...maybe even the stuff this factory uses..
We will see if we get others input as well..

I'm interested in this, too. We're looking at a Cavco home. They offer metal roofs as an option. They are very popular in the mountain village (+/-7,000ft MSL) where we live because we get snow, sleet, hail, ice, etc. Even a $500,000 home just built across the street from our present home has a metal roof.
I suspect the roofs used on MHs are not the same thickness but we've been led to believe they have a lifetime warranty. We'll be sure to ask for that in writing!!

Well, I rent a site built with a metal roof - trust me, when a walnut or branch falls on your roof at 3am, you will nearly wet yourself thinking it's a gunshot.
