Electric water heater versus propane

The new home we're purchasing will have an electric water heater, just wondering how much more expensive that is to operate versus propane .I believe you can get a conversion kit also do you know if propane company that fills your tanks will also hook up your dryer? I know I have to get a conversion kit thanks very much for your time!
