Re: Friendship vs. Champion vs. Bonnivilla

Have you ordered Grissom's rating guide and read his other books on MH yet? If not I highly recommend you do so. The small investment is well worth the cost.

Re: Adding a mobile to new land

I don't know where you are in Texas, but we are just over the border in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. We purchased our own land then went to Greg Tilley's in Bossier to buy our home. The price of the home we purchased was about $100,000.00 and the cost of site prep, septic, etc came to about $12...

Re: VAHomemortgage.com

I would check with some local mortgage brokers. If you don't know of any, ask the dealership you are considering purchasing the home from to recommend some to you.

Re: cement foundation for mobile homes

Sherrylynn, there is an upside to manufactured homes and that is you can get a beautiful and well built home for a lot less than you would pay for a site built home. In fact, you can get a home that is better built than some site built homes. There is a way to avoid "nightmares" with custo...

Re: financing for dblwide on its own land (retired title)

Check with a reputable manufactured home dealer or two in your area to find out what mortgage broker(s) they use. Contact the broker and set your clients up with an appointment. When I was buying our home I was having the same problem you are having. I found one broker who didn't know what he was do...

Re: mold and airconditioning

It could be the air conditioner. When is the last time you had it serviced? That should be done at least once a year, and you should change or clean the filters monthly.

Another good reason to NOT live in a park. And if you must, you should do your homework thoroughly before moving into one.

I'm not overly impressed as they don't give much information on the construction such as type of floor, 2x4 or 2x6 exterior walls, amount of insulation, etc.

Re: Best new brands

I agree with Murray and David about the books. I studied them and am glad I did. We finally purchased a Southern Energy home that was built in Alabama. The Southern Estate homes are ok but not as well built as the Southern Energy homes. The Southern of Texas are entry level homes and not as well bui...
