Re: wind code

Thanks again David. I found out I can go to Morehead City...and get a hurrican spec home. It would cost about $2000 more on a singlewide. Maybe it would help it at resale time since a lot of locals want that so they can take it to the beach....but then it has to be moved...maybe no net gain?

Re: wind code

Thanks David. Interesting that zone 1 only has 70 mph capability. My 95 Fleetwood made it through Fran as did a 1960's ten wide in my park. winds were constant 85 mph here. Only damage in the park...some skirting blown out...including mine. Not even any shingles missing from any of the homes. Is it ...

Re: Is 55,000 Too Much For A Singlewide?

I ordered the Grissim Special. I got my Horton used. It was what it was! Solid, very! Annoying..that too! I am selling my Horton in two weeks and buying a metal siding Cavalier/Brigadier built in 1999. It is what it is too. For $9500 set up, one owner, heat pump, in excellent condition I can accept ...

Re: Is 55,000 Too Much For A Singlewide?

Steeler, I live in a 97 Horton singlewide. Very well built home! Check out my pics...new ones look similar. Watch for the cosmetic trim inside...they used a paper based product in mine...fine in dry areas..but around doors it swelled up and turned to cardboard. Also check for tub panel access...mine...

Mobile Home florplans/brochures retro

I have many from years past..90's to 2000's. How do you find them as a hobby? I feel I am the only one who saved mine from when I was shopping for a new home. It would be cool to see them from the 60's to 80's too.

Re: Can you recommend siding?

Masonite appears to have been inappropriate for mobile homes. I have seen many that completely disintegrated.left big holes in the side on the home and let water into the home. My mom replaced her damaged boards, laid insulation over it and then put on vinyl siding...no further problems.

Re: First time poster/user

The Caddy isn't mine...but oh how I wish! You should have seen it in person...long and low and still looks like a spaceship...a future looking car 50 years later...hope the Horton pics looked good too.

Re: Fleetwood-bankruptcy

I think it is sad...hope the mobile home side survives. You would think with the economy MORE people would be wanting new manufactured housing. I suppose there are so many repos out there that the fire sale prices on them force new sales down. Just like in stick-built homes. One guy I heard about go...

Re: First time poster/user

Thank you:) I was trying to see what others thought about my comments on Fleetwood Homes bankruptcy...I liked the manufacturer but not the dealer. How do I locate that one to check?
