Re: Vapor barrier in ceiling

Also, you will be adding significant dead load to the roof system wich means the live load (snow load) decreases the same amount. If you live in area without snow you probably have a 20# roof load and the weight of the pine would leave you with little or no roof load capacity at all.

Re: Hold on a minute

Also, the substrate material for most laminate floors is particleboard so you are wasting your time and money removing the particleboard if you are going to install laminate floors that are made of particleboard.

Re: looking at a fleetwood double wide built in PA

If you can afford it, buy the Pinegrove. Things lke the 40# roof load and energystar construction will be worth a lot to you in Maine. Pinegrove is a muvh stronger, better built house.

Re: Has a rusty frame collapsed, and can air leak be fixed?

The duct leakage is probably the cause of most your frame rust. If I remember right, from your previous posts you live in a cold climate. Re: Propane vs Natural Gas

And, all manufacturers ship homes with the natural gas orifices installed as standard practice. Your gas company is ware of this. Also an appliance you would buy from Sears or Lowes or wherever is shipped with the natural gas orifice installed.

Re: Propane vs Natural Gas

If it is a modular home the water heater may or may not be convertible, but even then you would only need to change the burner assembly and not the whole water heater. If it is a hud code home, Rmurray is right, it is a very easy job for a qualified professional and your gas company should be willin...

Re: Formaldehyde

I would say the retailer was more correct than Rmurray. Before 1985 formaldehyde emmissions were essentially unregulated. Since that time hud has had maximum allowable formaldehyde levels for materials used in large quantities by manufacturers such as plywood, drywall, osb, particleboard etc. Also, ...

The vents that go nowhere are for return air. This house also has a hole in the floor located in the furnace closet so that the furnace can draw return air through the floor. It is very important that you do not have any holes in the blackboard underneath the home. The return air flows freely throug...
