Ask any retailer you consider for references. Names and numbers of customers they have sold homes to that you can talk to. Many Solitaire buyers seem happy with their experience.

In a skyline home of this vintage the floor joists are longitudinal. That is to say the joists run the length of the house. If the house is 60' long the joists are 60' long. Probably on 24" centers.

Unfortunately, there is no such information available. Bendix closed may years ago and such information was difficult to get when they were in business.

New Era and Chief have both built lofts in HUD code homes. They are substantially taller and more expensive than the sort of thing you see in a park model.

Commodore is indeed a superior home to Fleetwood. It is important though, to choose a retailer that is committed to you. Installation and much of the warranty work will depend on your retailer. You can't expect real great service from a retailer 200 miles away, either. All retailers will offer a bet...

Roof coating for metal roofs is available in either white or silver. Typically folks are happier with white.

You need an engineer rather than an installer to evaluate this issue. Especially if it snows where you live. This is probably not intended to be a load bearing wall. There may be some load now, if the ridge beam has sagged which is common.

Frame centers are not standardized. They can range from 75" to 112". Most homes also require perimeter support at sidewall openings.
