Re: Hot Roof
Your home was designed to "breath" through the vented roof. Eliminating that ventilation is not a great idea. In cold climates roof ventilation maintains the roof temperature to avoid ice dams, that are created by melting snow running to the roof's edge and freezing into ice. Additionally,...

Re: insulating steel roof of "Arizona Room" screened in porch

Re: Range Hood
I have seen several manufactured homes with range hoods suspended from cathedral ceilings. You will be adding a new hole in your roof...... so be sure to use an experienced, reliable contractor who is licensed and insured.

Re: floor vents single wide .
It is OK to partly close off the vents in unused rooms. If totally deprive part of your hone from air conditioning the differential may cause condensation in the walls and lead to mold growth..... not a good idea to shut down the return air in any room

Re: Bought First home and need help and advice!!
When you purchase a home you should do a walk-thru prior to closing to insure that the home is in the condition expected and contracted for, prior to putting your money on the table. That said, you can't go back in time, so what can you do now? The recourse available to you depends on the paper work...

Re: Steps before being away during hot summer months
Close the water off at the shut off valve where the water comes into the house. Plumbing components can fail at any point over time.... you don't want even a small drip while the home is vacant. Leave the electric on and the air set at 78 to 80. during the hot damp Florida summer you don't want the ...
