New Bathtub
Attempting to put in new manuf. home bathtub and enclosure (1 piece). Existing space is 54 7/16 length from drywall to drywall (5/16) (which is over the manufacturers specs of 54 max length so how did they install to begin with?). I will tear out new drywall and put in 1/2 greenboard, so my total fi...

Looking to replace fixtures on 1989 manuf home in bathroom, including tub. I have poly lines and original poly joints etc. New fixutures have brass connectors. Store indicated everyone is going to these new compression joints that work on poly, copper, pex etc. at same time so I could use a compress...

Have manuf. home, looking to install std. 54x27 tub with 3 piece surround. Tore off old drywall and it had a lot of mold near where surround meets the tub, and on the other side of the tub where faucets hooked up. Does it make sense to install tub and then surround direct to studs? Materials indicat...

Strange Wiring
I had to remove some drywall from my 2x wide manufactured home to install a new door in a rear bedroom and move an outlet. Circuit wiring is odd - The last outlet has two live powers coming into it, why would this be? The main switch to the room which controls an outlet has two lives coming into it....

Roof sheathing
In 1988 manufactured double home, I have parallel 2x2's for ceiling (with insulation between) and then a growing air space gap from wall to roof of 2x2 supporting sheathing. Underside of sheathing is brownish (and flakes a little) (top of sheathing normal color), and when temperature changes (like t...

Re: 2x2 ceiling
Thanks for the reassuring information. At what point should I replaced the roof sheathing? Again, it is brownish on underside and flakes a little when I scrape it. The top looks to be normal and does not flake. Also, since I have an air gap between sheating and insulation, would it make sense to put...

2x2 ceiling
Was putting in a box for a smoke detector in BR and noticed (for ceiling support) I have two 2x2's running parallel with insulation between them which the sheetrock is attached, and then appears to be 2x2 structure (for roof support) in which roof sheathing is nailed to. The sheathing underside is b...
