Re: Hot Roof
Thanks David, that was exactly my view. Unless he can add insulation and keep my ventilation (soffit/ridge vent) system working it won't be happening on my watch.

Hot Roof
I have a Insulation company coming next week to look at adding insulation to my exisiting 3/12 roof cavity in my double wide. He talked about creating a Hot (unventilated) roof by completly stuffing the cavity by going up throught the soffit vents with blown in insulation. I'm getting mixed views on...

Re: Manufactured to Modular
Thanks, That all makes perfect sense. It would be really nice if they could do the foundation project without to much destruction to the existing slab. I'm thinking they could cut through the slab to install the below grade footers and then continue with the remainder of the project details. I would...

Re: Manufactured to Modular
Well that opens another door for me. I didn't realize I had the option of an off frame modular without putting in a full foundation. I guess I could test the waters and see what I could get for my home and talk with a local builder of energy star modular homes and see what the numbers look like. Tha...

Manufactured to Modular
I currently own a great manufactured home on a super acre of land. I have currently looked into selling the home and replacing it with a modular. The two main reasons I am doing this is Insurance and depreciation. I'm finding it a little more difficult as the home gets older to insure and I would al...

Re: Can I removed the bladder on our manufactured home
Don, The professionals on this site know best. You really do need to leave that insulation in place. Its probably safe to assume your running an R19 insulating factor based on 2X6 floor joists. Not only does it keep moisture from reaching the sub floor but it also keeps your floors toasty warm in th...

Tank less Water Heaters
I am getting close to replacing my original Rheem Hot water heater. I was told originally that the Rinnai was not authorized for use in manufactured housing. I got my latest issue of Modern Homes publication and it had an ad for the Rinnai tankless water heater. Has anything changed with the ruling ...

Energy Audit
In a few short weeks I have elected to have an energy audit performed on my five year old structure built manufactured home here in Vermont. I thought it would be nice to see how my house is performing from an energy savings stand point and also to be alerted to any areas that I may be able to impro...
