Thanks for that information. Unfortunately we have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren living in Florida. We lived there from 1974 to 1998 but moved back to Iowa to care for my mother in law, who passed away last year at the age of 93.

So, what is the point? I'm looking to eliminate the monthly fees while I'm living in Iowa! Apparently only the rich can afford to winter in Florida, eh?

I've been told by the owner of a 55+ MH Park that according to Flordia State Law if we buy a MH our 34 year old son that is Down Syndrome can't live with us while we are in that MH in Florida.

Is this true?

I'm curious as to just what ROC and Land Lease mean. I've seen some classified Ads that have this in them and it mentions something about $125 monthly Maint. Fee or even as low as $85 monthly maint. fee includes water/sewer/trash/mowing/cable tv.

Is it possible to find 55+ Community MH Parks in Florida with lot rents under $150 per month?

I have found some parks that speak about Shares. I would like to know what they are and what they cost? Apparently they eliminate a monthly fee, right? Except for a monthy maintenence fee, right? Any help would be appreciated.
