Re: Toilet flange replacement in Manuf Home
Hi, You always get a better job if the toilet can sit on one full piece of wood. In order to do that, you'll have to cut the flange off. The next option is to splice two pieces of flooring around the flange. This would create a seam right at the flange. To add strength, you may also have to add extr...

I've been buying the vinyl-covered trim at almost any home improvement store -- Menards, Lowel's, Home Depot and such.

Re: shingled roof
Many roofing contractors actually like to do mobile homes, because they are square and not very steep. However, the sheething can be thin and some usually needs to be replaced, so that adds cost and slows down the shingling process.

Re: Question 3: mosaic tile walls, exhaust fan
Most walls are too flimsy to support mosaic tile. And if the wall was strong, the home could shift with the seasons and you'll have a mess. Personally I'd install that bath fan and use a good bathroom paint.

Re: Repiping - HELP now please!
I charge about $1500 to repipe using PEX. Some places I'm sure will get 2-3 times that much.

Re: Need help with leak in wall - near washer and under home
At that age of home, you probably have the gray poly pipe. And you may even have the very problematic plastic fittings. If this wasn't noted in the inspection, you definitely received a raw deal. Most likely you have a plastic fitting that's cracked. It could be in the wall, but most likely it's und...

Re: Question one of ??? many : leveling
Pick up the manual at the link underneath my name. It gives step by step instructions on how to do a releveling. Either make or buy a waterline level, and your off and running with these instructions.

Re: last question - flooring?
Hi, No ceramic. No stick-down vinyl squares. Sheet vinyl is my preference, but first an underlayment will need to be put down. Laminated flooring is also OK because it 'floats' and doesn't have to be nailed down anywhere. I'd be leary of the hardwood flooring because if your home shifts, you might h...
