Re: Keeping Flex Duct Safe

Get rid of the vinyl skirting and install solid skirting such as the pre-fab concrete skirting frequently suggested here. Or brick, stone or block. It will look better and add value to your home, too.

Re: safety

Here in tornado alley Oklahoma, that same warning is frequently issued. Mobile home parks do seem to suffer alot of storm damage just from the fact they are on open flat land and clustered together. And as the word "mobile" indicates, alot of these homes are older (not built to HUD specs),...

Sylvia:
Are you renewing your license plate for the home each year? We have not retired the title but have not received a license plate renewal notice either since the house was put in. The house is five years old now.

Re: Trade-in as down payment?

Mortgage companies would not take a trade-in but dealers often do. You'll just have to shop dealers in your area and see if they will work with you for a down payment.

Re: Retiring Title to Manufactured Home

The house was purchased new so there weren't any back taxes on it. We owned the land and then bought the house. When we got the title, we had to buy the license plate for the house (which is soooo ridiculous but this IS Oklahoma...). Our dealer told us the taxes we paid at that time would be the pro...

Re: yellowed bathtub

Look at the outside (even the inside) of a used RV. All the plastic vents and things will be yellow compared to new which is nic...

Re: Retiring Title to Manufactured Home

rmurray - is there any law that says you "have" to retire your title? We are in Oklahoma and the courthouse is saying if we retire the title we owe all the back years of property taxes. We are paying taxes on the land only at this point. Thank you!

Re: water heaters

Our water heater also blows out. I contacted our manufacturer and they said to try closing the skirting vents closest to the water heater. Next try closing down the intake under the house. They also sent a new vent cap but we haven't put it on yet and haven't adjusted the intake under the house. Bec...
