Re: laminate flooring

Good morning. To follow up this topic, We want to replace our carpet in the family room with pergo. There is a marriage line, and unfortunately only about 15 feet of it in the house is unlevel by 1/2 inch, which is in the family room. I don't want the entire house releveled, which for the expense, s...

Re: Clarification on "Frame is rusting!"

Well I too have thick scaly rust... like I said it is creating a brown streak under each I-beam. It is so extensive that it would take quite a job to sand down the rust and spray paint each one... only to start rusting again. I've been searching for solutions too. Everyone says to vent more, but if ...

Re: Preowned M.H. market?

Your home will NOT sell for a very favorable price without the land. If you read thru the forums, you will see that it is mostly the land that appreciates and has value.

Re: Frame is rusting!

I have a 2003 Skyline with the same problem. The frame is rusting such that there are brown streaks on the concrete slab underneath each I-beam. I have venting under our home. However when it's 90 with 100 humidity outside, and its 80 with 100 humidity under the home, you get condensation on the fra...

Re: Uneven floor were the two sections are joined

We had the same issue. The installers came back out and made it better although not perfect. They were amateurs at best. Anyway there is a floor levelling compound that looks like drywall mud. You put it over the marriage line and smoothe out the uneven parts going out a few feet. You can even put i...

Re: Buying a Manufactured Home in San Jose, please advise :)

You may be getting yourself in a financial bind doing this. You may have problems with qualified renters for your manufactured home. Even if you find some decent people then will you really want to share the same roof with them every day? I did the same thing in a college dorm but after college and ...

Re: 75g Fish tank ?

Everything I've heard about fish tanks and pianos suggests it is fine. Especially if you can put it over a floor joist over a steel I-beam.

Has a rusty frame collapsed, and can air leak be fixed?

Thanks for the replies. I'm not worried about the straps either because since many of them rusted and came down, there is no other problem. I did hear about some rust being normal depending on where I read. Believe me, trying to corner the manufacturer with HUD violations is like trapping an elephan...

Metal straps by I-beams coming off

I have a 2002 Skyline mh. I periodically go under my house to check on things such as leaks. The I-beams became rusty within 1 year after setup. Under the home is dry, and the dryer vent vents to the outside. However the furnace does leak a bit into the belly wrap. Where there was a hole in the bell...
