Re: Skyline homes?
After years of research since finding this forum, have Grissoms books and walking through many Skyline models I have decided that as soon as my current property sells in VT, I will be purchasing A Skyline home. I will have upgraded insulation, though their standard is quite sufficient for most, bein...

Pellet stove experience
Has anyone installed a pellet stove in an existing MH fireplace with an insert? I believe this is easier than a woodstove and cleaner.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Electric vs propane heat and water
Jen,
Where do you live? Was that $400 a month before the pellet stove? Did you use your electric furnace as well? I know I have alot of questions but I really need the answers. I am planning around 1500 sq ft for the house. Do you know how much roof insulation you have?
Thanks in advance!

Electric vs propane heat and water
Which do you find more economical, electric heat and hot water or propane. I live in Vermont so we have alot of cold. I plan to buy a very well insulated doublewide as soon as I sell my current home on 40 acres . I will also be installing a woodstove for a secondary heat source (installed by profess...

Re: Redman
The dealer has essentially ignored me and will not deal with me probably because I brought up these issues. They are supposably a very reputable dealer. Not a member of BBB cause they feel anyone can pay for the designation and it allows bad dealers to get good ratings even if they have complaints. ...

Re: Research the Dealer
Personally I would not buy a house bulit for fl standards and move it to VA where the weather is substantially different. i was surprised noone mentioned this fact. I too have not found anyone in new England at the dealer level who has heard of grissims book. Maybe someone should send all dealers th...

Re: clayton homes
As soon as I sell my present home on 43 acres here in VT I am hoping someone will sell me a decent MH. The dealers here are poor at best. i would be a cash buyer. No loan. My land that i will also purchase when my present "great vacation home" sells. It is very rustic but in a very peacefu...

Re: clayton homes
But David, if they only rate a 5 out of 10, that means their product is pretty poorly made. How can they be so successful? Should I consider their homes?
