Small breaks in the flex duct can be repaired with duct tape... if the holes are big it is not difficult to replace the entire flex line. I see that you are in Florida. Most MHomes in Florida have exterior package air units, as opposed to split units that have part of the air unit in the home and part on the outside.. If that is the case The placement of the air unit was probably made in order to put the unit out of the way of walkway...
