Re: trailer skirting
Also if you live in a park make sure they will allow whatever it is you decide on and get it in writing. I was looking into the System I skirting myself as I like how it looks and is certainly substantial but for the reason why my park nixed it. So I'll stick with my white vinyl which looks great as...

Re: lot rent increases
wow I wish I lived in Michigan with those rents. Seriously a lot also depends on where you live. There are mobile homes selling up to a million in California and rent on a mobile home lot goes up just like apartment rent etc. I live in a very nice (newer homes) generally well kept park between Balti...

Re: who do you call?
Greg, Thanks for your response. I tried the internet search for Mobile home contractors etc., and I swear there is no such thing around here. I ask my neighbors who they use and it's usually a male adult in the house. So I went to Service Magic. I've used them before I bought this house and was alwa...

Re: who do you call?
Thanks Dave but I'm afraid I started with the park manager whose husband takes care of her stuff. I read the link you sent already. Maybe I'll check out Cragslist for a handyman. I hired one recently for some things inside the house and he not only did a great job but really gave me a break on the p...

who do you call?
I bought a very nice double wide in 9/07 and have put a lot of $$ and work into it to make it nicer, and some things just need repair. I am at a loss as to who to call that is familiar with mobile homes for things like replacing heat tape and insulation, a couple of cracked windows and a few other o...

Re: Electric vs propane heat and water
I live near Baltimore, Maryland. Yes the $400 was before the pellet stove. Part of that could be that I am home all day but even before winter I did all I could to prepare. I had that shrink wrap plastic on all windows. I have older single pane windows with storm windows. I insulated all outlets, no...

Re: Pellet stove experience
There are many pellet stoves that are approved for mobile homes I have one. I have a Breckwell P23 with pedestal (not legs) the only difference was the hearth pad and unit has to be bolted to the floor and cannot be installed in a bedroom. My model also came in a insert style. If you do your researc...

Re: PARK MANAGER ABUSING MY RIGHT TO SELL
I know this response is late but I recently found out selling my unit here would be worse. The park manager makes it very difficult for anyone to get approval to live in the park unless they bought the home through them. The sales office charges 10% commission and do little if anything to make a sal...

Re: Electric vs propane heat and water
I can only go by what I have and know. My cooking is the only thing that is propane. I don't cook as I have back injury and really can't stand but for a few minutes. My son does cook from time to time and we both prefer natural gas or propane for cooking. Hot water heater is electric as is the furna...

Redy Temp ?
Last night while perusing the internet and researching frozen pipes I found something called RedyTemp ATC-3000. They are advertising that it can prevent freezing pipes without the use of heat tape. They run about $325, which I figure is about what it would run me around here to have someone replace ...
