Re: Plumbing 1983 Palm Harbor double wide
David did give very sound advise! We have a 1990 On-The-Frame Modular in NJ & it has the grey pipe. Gotta say (knock on wood) we've had no leaks. But whenever we make any modifications, we replace the pipe with PEX. Like we had to replace the water heater, we plumbed it with PEX. Where we joined...

Re: data plate
Is it a HUD home or was it concidered a "modular home." Our home is an On the Frame Modular. It looks every bit like a regular mobile home. However, istead of a HUD label on our siding, we have a plate under the kitchen sink. This plate states the home is an "Approved Modular Unit.&qu...

Re: whole house water filter
We have an On-The-Frame modular in New Jersey. We have a well that has a lot of iron in it. We bought a whole house iron filter which back-flushes itself every 6 days. There is nothing to change in the filter & we've never replaced anything in it in almost 21 years. I believe they have this kind...

Re: House Smart Appraisal

Re: granite in kitchen
I have a manufactured home built in 1990 & for at least 15 years I had a queen-sized water bed. I'm sure that weighs a whole lot more than granite counter tops.

Re: Manufacturer for 1976 Imperial Le Baron
I have an on the frame modular built by a company called Imperial Homes in 1990. They were in Hegins, PA. I wonder if this part of the same company. I believe they are out of business, now. Our house is very well built & if it's the same company, I'm sure yours is, too. Since my home was built t...

Re: Life Expectancy
I'm new to this board, but I've read many posts. I live in a On the Frame modular in NJ. We've lived here for over 20 years. We don't think of it as a "mobile home" or a "manufactured home." We think of it as our home. We've had zero problems with this home over the years. We hav...
