Replace Older Mfg Home with New?

We have an older doublewide manufactured home, and we are wondering if we could have the older home removed, purchase a new doublewide of about the same dimensions, and have the new one installed on the foundation the old one used? The foundation is a permanent foundation. Would the same hookups for...

Re: Refinance -- Now It's the Foundation, Sigh...

Thanks for the reply! The garage and "addition" combo are in fact DETACHED from the mfg home and on their own foundation. The west wall of the "addition" is set up about 3 inches from the east wall (end wall) of the mfg home. The "addition" was designed and constructed to pretty much snug up very cl...

Refinance -- Now It's the Foundation, Sigh...

We have been trying for 2 years to our dream home, which is a 20-yr old very nice Palm Harbor doublewide on 2 acres, with a detached large stick-built "addition" that includes a 2-car garage. It has a detached site built large garage and workshop/studio, and the lender we were working with has decided the garage/workshop makes the property "too unique" for them to lend on it. The property is scheduled to foreclose by the end of ...

Re: Removing Windows Totally

Thank you for the helpful information and the great ideas! Actually, at this point, we CAN remove the windows from the outside, because we can reach them easily between the studs, all that area is still open. And I really love your suggestions for using mirrors in those window areas, or to cover them.

Removing Windows Totally

We are in process of buying a manufactured home (circa 1989). It's on a concrete foundation (stemwall), in very good condition, etc. The former owners built a detached addition that wraps around one end of the manufactured home. This addition needs interior finishing, which we'll have done. The end ...
