Laminate/wood floor to replace carpet.
Laminate/wood floor to replace carpet.
We are considering replacing the rug in the living room and down the hall in our Southern Energy doublewide with wood or wood laminate (floating) floor. As the flooring will have to cross the marriage line, is there any particular way it should run (parallel or perpendicular to the marriage line) and if it makes a difference, why?

Good Question -
The floor panels come in a box with the manufactures recommended installation procedure and most times a phone number to call if you run in to problems .... call it.
When we have installed tile floors we removed the plywood decking down both sides of the marriage line and re install the same gauge plywood, bridging across the center line. This eliminates the worse sheer-point for tile. It is a nuisance job but it has kept the Italian tiles from cracking along the center-line in my home for 16 years.
(That neat trick did not protect the tiles from my sons when they were teen-ages....it is unimaginable... the damage that young addicts of TV wrestling can commit on a tile floor...)
