Re: Mounting Flat Panel TV in Manufactured Home

Same process and probably even easier as you can fish your signal cables and power down through the wall and underneath and then back up to your distribution point This is actually a fairly easy DIY project. Regardless what the local Handy Andy say's, You do not have to demo anything, you do not hav...

Re: my house manufactured by Skyline

This is as impressive as the woman in Florida with the 64 Comet that has 750,000 miles.Skyline should buy that from you or trade you for a new one and use your 73 as a testimonial.Just the same Ford is crazy for not jumping on the Florida Comet.

Re: Looking for replacement windows

Manufactured housing windows have standard sizes that are shared through out the industry.22 X 58, 30 X 58, 46 X 58, 46 X 40, 46 X 48, 14 X 42 etc... I assume you have Phillips windows,if you are looking to replace and upgrade you can use Kinro windows as they are made to industry sizes. Phillips wa...

Re: Roof ventilation

I assume you have the Deluxe Blend Air being it has a fan, this provides venting for the attic space as well as bringing in fresh air to the living space, the Standard only brings in fresh air to the living space. For the most part the powered roof vent systems do not require a large amount of overall...

Re: Verifiaction of HUD Label

If the unit was built in 1974 it will not have HUD labels. The HUD program began June 15 1976. HUD labels will have three letters followed by six numbers. The title could be wrong as far as the year of manufacture, can you verify the serial number? If it is a HUD unit the serial number will be stamped...

Re: Number of Vents along my skirting?

Talk to your Authority Having Jurisdiction inspector and look at your set up manual. The set up manual will give you the manufacturers requirement which is most likely 1 sq ft per 150 sq ft of under floor area or 1 sq ft per 1,500 sq ft if a ground moisture retarder is installed. My experience has be...

Re: Walk me thru replacing belly board, please.

I would not mess with bottom board, make your belly patches with 1/8" or 1/4" 4x8 luan/plywood panels.Using the thin material allows you to work around penetrations and is much easier to handle. You can friction fit the insulation between the joists or use straps or hangers. If you need to a...

Re: Can a HUD Park Model have a Loft area?

My take is no, but maybe not impossible. You would most likely have to campaign HUD to issue an AC letter and all the BS that comes with it. The issues that would be in the way are the HUD standards for minimum ceiling heights and egress requirements.Being that HUD does not address lofts or steps, it...

Re: texturing my 1978 burlington living room ceiling

Cudasteve, from your description it sounds like you have Amarillo Phase V ceiling panels, very common ceiling material used on units built in the late 70's early 80's. These were made of a cardboard/cork/paper composite mystery material (picture dropped ceiling tiles) installed parallel to the trusse...
